Summer 2010
Dear
Families,
I
would like to give you an update on our summer program status. To date, funds
for a full-scale summer program aren’t available. However, a modified program is going to
be offered with only 25 openings. A
graduate of Hamilton High, Danica Loucks, is pursuing her degree at Bowdoin
College in Maine. She has received
the
Preston Public Interest Career Fund (PPICF) Summer Fellowship. This fellowship
will pay her salary for the summer to provide summer programming for Keystone
kids. With my support and that of
Robin Vineyard, Danica will be coordinating a summer program for those 25
students.
We
have chosen those students based on 3 criteria. The first is the
consistency of a student’s past attendance and commitment to the
program. The second criterion is positive behavior and the third is
financial need. The first 30
students have been invited to participate.
As those invitations are accepted or declined, spots will be filled from
the remaining list. Please contact us with any questions or
concerns.
Sincerely,
Ria
Overholt
